Beautiful place but...

This hotel is beautiful, very elegant. The bedroom was huge with high ceilings and period furniture, the bathroom equally large. The dinner we had in the restaurant was delicious, and the staff in the restaurant very attentive. However...
When we arrived to check in, the man at reception was more interested in talking on the phone than assisting us - and so the process took about 30 minutes.
The bedroom was lovely but cold with no source of heating. There were also cobwebs on the ceilings, and the furniture was dusty.
The bathroom was huge, but the light switch was across the other side of the room from the door, so we had to walk all across the room to turn on the light. It also has cobwebs.
The table cloths on the tables in the bar area were dirty and stained from previous guests, and the furniture in the restaurant was very dusty.
We got the impression that this place has huge potential, but unfortunately the important details were missing. The majority of the staff we encountered were, however, very friendly and helpful.
We would love to return to Patiala but would probably choose another hotel.
Live like Patiala Royals

Baradari Patiala is the erstwhile palace of the royal family of Patiala. It was specially built for the queens. So, it was my turn to live life Maharani size at Baradari.
The rooms are huge and so are bathrooms on the ground floor where I stayed. All rooms come with period decor, specially four poster beds and paintings of royal family around you.
The baradri in the middle of the property is a lively place to sit and chat as the original residents of the palace would have done.
Food served is primarily Punjabi. Do try their amazing Paranthas with white butter for breakfast.
The gone era

Visited for a business lunch. Well spaced out place with the heritage structure maintained in its original shape. The wooden furniture, carvings, lay out and interiors have been carefully done to retain the original look and glory. Takes you back a few centuries. The individual rooms have been aesthetically done to remind you of the era bygone.
Food and service were ok. The dining hall itself is a heritage one.
Overall very nice and different from the run of the mill contemporary places.
Beautiful and Palatial!

We stayed 4 days here while attending a wedding in Patiala. We couldn't have chosen better! Away from the hustle and bustle, from the noise and pollution, this is the ideal quiet and serene location to stay in!
A truly beautiful palace, converted into the present hotel. The room was awesome, the bathroom as big as the room! Fantastic!
It has a nostalgic feeling, like going back in time, and we loved it!
Thank you to the manager Dhiraj, and to Manoj, and all the staff, who took excellent care of us!
We were truly made to feel like royalty during our stay!
Awesome
