What People are saying

A good spring clean needed

JonathanBevan on 07/01/2018 03:31

This hotel was great ten years ago and it was set in a more pleasant area (ref. overdevelopment). I stayed there many times. Two things that could be fixed should be. Service all the air conditioners and install fans too in all the rooms, as the ac. units can be noisy, particularly as he probably chose cheap units.
Next as people have commented the sewer is a real problem. I guess after thirty or so years the whole network needs servicing. That means jet blasting the system, maybe digging up the septic and re-setting. Right now it seems the toilet is linked to the shower.. Putrid smell bubbles up from the depths of the system when water is used in the room; toilet flush/shower. Should not be too hard to fix but will it be done. With the general level of apathy, probably not. It is a shame as it could be a nice budget hotel if the sanitation was fixed. Albeit a hotel set a long way from anywhere. It suited me but until they clean it I doubt I will return.

Comfy beds but dirty bathrooms

robyn_f2701 on 11/09/2017 23:46

Me and my partner stayed here for 5 nights before we went to our next stop. Here is a cheap stay working out only £16 a night which was in our budget. The beds were quite comfy, we had a good sleep every night apart from our last night where we were moved rooms. Our air conditioning unit was so loud it was hard to get to sleep and there was a family screaming and shouting by the pool ( which was outside our room) till the early hours in the morning, so we then decided to get up at 5:30 and check out as there was no getting back to sleep at that point. It's a quiet hotel not a party atmosphere at all. The bathrooms are disgusting and aren't cleaned, almost unusable. In our first room every time you turned the water on a stench would fill up the room of sewage etc. In our second room was a bath/shower, I decided to brave it and try have a shower but had to wear my flip flops as the floor of the bath was so dirty and there was a few ants crawling around. The restaurant connected to the hotel is cheap and sells decent food if you don't want to go too far. Staff don't speak that much English but we're nice. The pool is very small and doesn't look as big in photos.

Place to sleep..

Stayed here 3 nights..well if u are here to sleep-its ok, but not more.
Located 10-15 mins from beach..many shops and restaurants around, small but nice swimming pool.
Breakfast in nearby cafe with 4-5 different choices)
Be carefull with money cgangers around offering 13.880, 13.790, etc.they are cheating!!
Dont stay in the room whole day, explore and enjoy Bali!

Awful hotel

Roxanne H on 20/06/2017 03:37

The staff at the hotel were friendly enough & were able to order you taxi's when needed but weren't much help with information as they couldn't talk much english or understand you. The room was basic smelt very damp & musky. The bathroom was disgusting & dirty! Full of flys and had a cold shower. The air con was broken sounded like an aeroplane was landing in your room when it was on & was blowing out warm air. We asked for it to be fixed but it never was. Only good thing was the two free bottles of water they provided daily. Defo worth looking for another hotel as it is in the middle of nowhere & a taxi drive to everything.

Three star hotel!?

drwols on 19/06/2017 16:15

I stayed for 4 nights at the end of a several month backpacking trip. We booked this hotel due to the reasonable cost and advertised free shuttle bus going to three local beaches.

In reality, there is no shuttle bus - you are just given excuses why the driver is never available. Upon questioning the receptionist at what time it should run, she tells me 7am. Are you for real? Who gets up that early to go to the beach? She just made up a time! The beach is 15 mins walk which I can deal with. What I cannot deal with is false advertising.

The AC in our room was bad, it cooled the room mildly but the thermostat wasn't accurate. The room stank of mothballs, I soon found many hidden around the room - under the bed, behind the wardrobe, under the side cabinet. I collected over 20 and flushed them all down the toilet. I contemplated changing room but who's to say the next room they gave wouldn't be full of them too?

One of the receptionists was unable to provide my girlfriend a price of the spa facilities, so why even advertise this service? She also couldn't give me an accurate price for the various types of rooms, it was so obvious she was trying to blag. Just useless.

In summary, avoid this hotel because not even the comfortable beds can make up for the numerous problems I experienced. I honestly don't have high expectations from budget hotels, but Batu Belig found a way to disappoint me. The place looks much better from the outside than the inside.

If these issues are reoccurring I give it 12 - 18 months before the hotel closes.
