I have been reading other reviews here of "excellent, very good" and have to admit whether we are all reviewing the same pub accommodation?.........well yes we are.
This place is cheap and nasty and advertised "superior double"........laughable!
The mattress was so thin that your hip bones dug into the flat board underneath.....a painful sleepless night. Sliding double window door entry to room with minimal locking security. I ended up putting our bags back into the car......at least the car had an alarm!
Don't know about the free wifi as we were not given a password and couldn't care really to enquire about that, as we couldn't wait to get out of the place!
If you are a traveller looking for a good nights sleep.......go elsewhere!

We stayed here in Room 5 for one night as it was the cheapest room we could find as part of our short road-trip. The room is quite spacious and clean and had all the amenities that we needed for a fleeting visit.
My only complaint is the mattress, it was one of the most uncomfortable I have slept on in a hotel/B&B and would really suggest it being changed. I must have drawn the short straw with my boyfriend and got the extra springy side where the springs stuck right into my back.
All in all it is definitely a room where you get what you pay for.

Excellent room, with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, shower, toilet, TV, and (I think free wifi), and all for the sort of price I thought could no longer be found. A friendly pub, with decent beer, live music, picnic tables, enough parking and easy checkin and checkout. We stayed here for three nights while taking part in the Kentwell 1917 event at Long Melford. Shops and Restaurants within easy walking distance - strongly recommend "The Loft" in Gaol Street for Lunch or Dinner.

Stayed 3 nights in June 2017. Although basic you have everything you need. We had the room with patio doors. Although fabulous views there was no privacy. You had to keep curtains closed as cars and vans park in car park and people walking by. Shame because views with stunning. I would stay again definitely but would request another room. The pub was great, had a fabulous night with a live band and such friendly people.

Having stayed at the Bay Horse before I knew what to expect.The room was clean and basic. The shower was not very powerful and the room was not private with cars parked directly outside the Patio doors which were the entrance to the room.There is live music at the weekend so dont expect peace and quiet !
The music started at 4pm and finished at 7pm on the Sunday I was there ,but there were several very drunk people hanging about afterwards making it not the place to sit and enjoy a Sunday evening.
Having said that the music was good and the free food made it even better. Breakfast is not offered but the Pub is easy walking distance from the High street.
