I was visiting The Castle Inn Hotel for a friend's 40th birthday - we hired out the private function room which was great. The Inn has had a refurb in recent years which, whilst has been well done has, in our opinion lost some of its charm. However - the function room we used still retains this - exposed brick walls, fireplace and easily sat 36 that we were in really comfortable cream leather high backed seats. The staff were super attentive and the food was really impressive. Great value at £22.50 per head for a 3 course meal and teas/coffees etc. Very friendly bar staff to. I decided to stay rather than get an expensive taxi home and pleased I did. Had the Bramber room - disable access - kind of in the car park but you didn't feel that. Very nicely furnished - lovely and costy, good shower and excellent range of tea + coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits. As it was an unexpected stay - the lady who booked me in immediately offered to get me a toothbrush/toothpaste which was much appreciated. Good quality bedding and towels. Only thing noticeably missing was any form of body lotion which I missed as I'd come unprepared but such a minor detail! The breakfast was delicious. Great value and friendly staff with high quality of food.

Wow wow absolutely fabulous food, parsnip soup and roast, beef and roast belly pork... 5 star no doubt.
Staff are friendly warm and very helpful, supplying walking maps to burn off our lunch.
Definitely be back

Without any hesitation from the reservation of the function room to the day of my birthday I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the manager and all the staff who made sure that my celebrations went smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was to excellent. A great choice of wine. Service was first class. Will without any hesitation return to dine at âThe Castle Inn Hotelâ again soon. Will recommend to all my friends.

We have been to the castle a fair few times before and love the food, drink and staff so thought it would be a great place to celebrate the wife's 30th with food and drinks and we weren't disappointed, food was incredible and staff made it enjoyable and stress free. Highly recommend

stunning food and great service. cant recommend this place enough. looking forward to there suspected refurbishment, it will completely finish this beautiful place off. the new menu looks great. many thanks see you again.
