What People are saying
Old, faded and poorly run!

If you like uncomfortable beds, old faded decor, frozen food heated up, rude service... for a premium price then this is the perfect place for you. Stop in for a beer to enjoy the view but stay somewhere else. Not sure where the five star ratings come from.
Could be so much better

We went here for a family meal while staying at the campsite locally. We were attracted to it by the fact that we could take our dog in, and full marks to them for that. The barman was friendly and helpful and the waiter was good too, but unfortunately the good news ends there. The pizza oven was broken and there were few alternatives to suit our two veggie kids. Apparently some macaroni cheese (seen on the sample menu online) could not be managed by the relief chef. We felt that £9 for slightly soggy frozen scampi, poorly fried chips and some tired salad was not reasonable. We really wanted to like this place - we love being able to visit a local pub with our dog while on holiday - but sadly it just wasnât up to scratch.
Very good for what it is.

We came on a Groupon deal and knowing it's a family run hotel in the middle of nowhere we weren't expecting luxury or gourmet meals.
We were pleasantly surprised
The location is fantastic , the rooms were very well heated , ours was pretty spacious with a huge bed, fresh towels daily, soap renewed, beds made.
High speed wifi free.
A tiny TV - with only 7 ? Rooms they could spend a few hundred and upgrade these.
Breakfast adequate and on day 2 we had cooked at no extra cost which was nice.
1st night dinner included delicious home made Steak pie but the other dishes were catering -style - adequate but not fantastic ( we didn't expect them to be )
Wine good choices and good value.
Whisky selection small and expensive ( tiny measures) tap beer ok too
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our two days and thought it was great value for money.
Friendly staff ( none Scottish !) warm cosy clean and relaxed. And Inverness just 45 mins up the road.
Comfortable Inn with great view of Loch Ness

My wife found this on Groupon. We had an issue with redeeming it but the staff was very helpful and was able to accommodate us.
Check in was simple and the room was comfortable. There is a bar attached to the place and has good food.
The best part is it's view of Loch Ness. The main window in the stairwell has a spectacular view across the lake. I would imagine the sunsets are wonderful, but it was snowing while we were there. It's also a short walk to the Falls of Foyers. Honestly, if you're looking to just get away and relax, I can't think of a better place.
Lovely birthday break in the highlands

We had a great 3 night stay last week via a Groupon deal. All the staff we met were welcoming and friendly. Had a gorgeous room (4), large, really comfortable bed, great shower in the ensuite bathroom and phenomenal view across the Loch to the hills with the first snows covering the top and two comfortable armchairs in which to sit and relax. The breakfast was delicious with friendly service and we ate on all three nights and whilst the menu wasnât huge and (I suspect) some of it pre prepared, everything we had was tasty and well cooked. The hotel was really warm throughout and as everyone says, the view is second to none.
If I had to find a less positive point it would just be to guide expectations, the meals are served in a bar area, there isnât a restaurant as such. The bar is fine, partly in a conservatory area again with the view but definitely a pub meal experience rather than 4 star dining. In this respect, the standard of the room and the public area of the hotel were a bit of a mismatch. The breakfast room is nice, shame it isnât an option in the evening unless it was because we were there out of season.
Canât comment on the usual value for money as we were on the 3 night deal, but certainly for that it was excellent value and a wonderful birthday break with lots of places to visit nearby.
