Stopped off here before as itâs close to Thoresby Hall itâs a very nice pub lunch time snacks or full menu food is very nice I can imagine if you want Friday Saturday or Sunday you would have to book as it is very popular

We came up to the area for an end of season shooting trip close to Newark. The Dovecote Inn was close to perfect for our needs. Landlord and landlady were delightful and very welcoming. Rooms were very comfortable and bathrooms well appointed with modern facilities. Excellent shower!! The Continental Breakfast was an inspired idea that worked really well and gave you the option to grab a bite of something any time of the day or night.
Our only regret was not to sample the restaurant food due to our schedule. The smells from the âend of season game supperâ were very tantalising - and judging from the number of attendees and laughter coming from the guests they were certainly enjoying the experience. The location is only around 12 to 15 minutes from Newark and a pleasant change from some of the more âcorporateâ offerings in the area - will certainly be back later in the year for similar trips in the 2018 season when we travel up from Somerset.

The pub was very warm, service very slow and the food very average. We ordered some bread and olives took forever, described as artisan bread but it was toasted so not impressed. Main meals again very average, chips soggy

A Christmas present from our generous Daughter. Started with checking into the lovely beamed suite - very comfortable with a touch of rural luxury! Then into the bar to sample some of the prestige speciality Gins - they even have a Gin menu. The meal was excellent also with original recipes made with locally sourced produce. I had a Rabbit & Black Pudding pasta dish which was delicious. Very well looked after by the staff & I even got a mini tour of the cellar! A very comfortable stay.

I have been to the dovecote several times and it is consistent in terms of quality food, good portions and a excellent price compared to other establishments
I appreciate the staffs efforts today In accommodating 17 members of my family, they worked hard and made sure we were all relaxed and happy, the food was quality, . It was a perfect way to spend my 30th birthday with family in a relaxed atmosphere. I will continue to attend and so will my family.
