The Dylan is one of the nicest city hotels I have stayed in for a long time. The restaurant and bar area are warm and welcoming and the food very good. Unfortunately our reception was not as good as it could have been due to the error of the hotel in not charging our credit card when we booked and then insisting that it was our error. Otherwise the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was most comfortable although perhaps a little small.

OK, full disclosure - I loved this hotel.
Stayed here overnight on business for a function the next day, and it is simply one of the best hotels I've stayed in in Western Europe. Staff were polite & helpful. The restaurant/bar area was lovely. And the room was amazing - spacious enough for a small sofa and a desk with the bed, walk in shower as well as a bath and all the creature comforts you could hope for.
Plus it looks stunning - the little courtyard out the front gives you a real feel for the classy quirkiness of this place. And still only 20 minutes stroll from central station, via all the bridges and canals I love Amsterdam for.
Definitely one I will try to return to!

Amazing stay once again. Everything about my stay was great. The bar with a fire place give you those warm feeling in the winter nights. You can explore the city by renting the hotel bike which was only 15 euros per day.

Stayed in a beautiful room!! Towards the top of the hotel, high ceilings, beautifully furnished in wood and white linens... so lovely. We stayed in Amsterdam to acclimate before heading off to Africa and so glad we did! Perfect spot on quaint street on the canal. Great Bar after a long day of walking!!! Service at morning breakfast needs a bit of work but the food was great! Would stay here again!! Loved it! Very old building with crazy stairways up to the rooms, beautifully refurbished. Loved it!

We took a family trip to Amsterdam over Christmas. We specifically did not want a large mainstream hotel. They Dylan was a wonderful luxury boutique alternative in a fantastic location. The Dylan is in the Jordaan neighborhood near the "9" streets with great retail and restaurants in close proximity. It was a nice "local" vibe compared to the other touristy areas of the city. The staff always went above and beyond to help us with our visit. I highly recommend this hotel.
