Fantastic hotel just a short walk from the old town. Spacious comfortable room with a large bed and roomy sofa area. Very quiet and peaceful. Will stay here again. Probably one of the best hotels I have stayed at!

Stayed there for 4 nights in february with my husband. Arrived after midnight and check in was very quick. We got a room on ground floor and we had to go through the dining room to get there. At first we found that a little strange but very soon got used to that and it did not bother us. They offer exceptionally good breakfast, both ala carte and buffet. Tried various kinds of eggs cooked to order and pancakes, freshly squeezed orange juice to name a few. The hotel also offers you a free drink at their restaurant to be used on your first day. I found that a nice gesture and we had our drinks and a desert. The room it self was very big, always very well cleaned. Would have preferred a walk in shower in stead of a bath tub shower, but still ended up using the bathtub. Area quiet and we never heard noices. Would definatly stay there again.

Stayed here with a friend in October. Got there late at night and checked into room which was lovely. A duplex room with big comfy bed and a pull out sofa bed upstairs. Little kitchen unit and lovely bathroom. First night sleep well . No complaints. Second night... disasterous... went to bed around 1am. All I can say is unpleasant Noises started from the room next door. Very loud and very unpleasant. I rang reception to make a complaint. They said they would ring room. This went one for an hour or two. Ringing down to reception and them coming up to room and so on. Noises got worst. I rang reception many times and they knocked on door of the room not answer. The staff dealt with this all wrong and should of called the police. The next morning we complained again and staff told us it was a "Celebrity Football Manger" and kind of laughed at what happened. Basically is was a party with one man and lots of ladies that sounded like it was out of control.
Also the window cleaners were going at 7am in the morning with a racket out side window. Would not recommend this hotel as staff and management don't care about guest. The dmstaff dealt with this all in the wrong way and manner.

I have been to this hotel twice. First time wonderful experience
The second time an AWFUL experience.
The first morning I woke before 7am with a man cleaning the windows looking right into the room (the blinds were open). The noise he made went on for a good 30 plus minutes afterwards with the wires holding him up.
The second night- Sat 14 October 2017, the neighbouring room hosted a SEX PARTY with multiple people. We had to spend hours listening to it. We discovered the following morning it was a Polish City's Football Club Manager (details we hold as it was revealed by the staff). Nothing was done by the hotel given his status. We spent hours listening to screaming and other sexual noises. This man was left to carry on in this behaviour given his status.
I expected some form of apology from the hotel. A month later I wrote to them. I was offered a discount of â¬4.00.. This went on and the final discount I was offereed was â¬15.00. I was told my claim was "exaggerated", which is wholly untrue. All the staff were talking about it but nobody had to listen to the endless screaming.
It is a nice hotel but I will never return to it. â¬4.00 is the value The Granary placed on the disgusting conduct we had to listen to and get no sleep.
They place a value on a particular class of clientele.. .If you are into SEX /SWINGER PARTIES this is the place to stay as The Granary tolerates this type of conduct and endless hours of screaming etc otherwise STAY AWAY.

Stayed here over New Years. Good location as far enough away from the action to be quite. No need to hire cab from train station as itâs only a 7 min walk.
Rooms are large and clean, and building retains some of its historical features.
Only downside was the pillows and duvets needed replacement. Very low quality given standard of the rest of the property.
