My stay in this hotel was very brief : only a night. The hotel is at a distance from the main attractions : the ghats and the ropeway for Manasa Devi and Chandi Devi temples. The rooms are just functional, with very basic cleanliness. Overall, not a bad experience, but also not the sort of hotel that you would recommend, as the hotel is very average.

very very poor management. Cockroaches everywhere. full of dust unhealthy and unhygienic place. Worst dinning hall. no continuous supply of power. Ac is in room but switch is outside the room which is shut by staff at night. Totally untrained staff. No manners. No courtesy. Never will be recommended to anybody. Total waste of money. Bath towel size is of hand towel that is one forth of normal size bath towel. Worst room service.

I visited haridwar in june month with my wife and one kid 2 yrs old. One month before I booked one deluxe room for one night in this hotel "great ananda" and when we reached to hotel around night 9 pm, hotel manager told us that we don't have room available here but we will give you deluxe room in another nearby hotel named "hill view" but you have to come again in this hotel for dinner and breakfast.
Then we were taken to hotel hill view by walk and it took around 10 minutes.
1. Hotel hill view is not next building to hotel great ananda. It took us 10 minutes by walk and we need to cross the highway "Haridwar Rishikesh highway".
You guys can imagine the pain when we are tired and carrying a two years old baby from here to there around night 9 pm. And waiting on the highway to cross it.
2. In hotel hill view we were given a room like a third class. I never seen such kind of deluxe room in my life. Actually its not a hotel it is a lodge.
3. After check in to hotel hill view again we came to hotel ananda for dinner and carrying a baby and waiting 10 minutes to cross the highway. We complaint to manager for the room then he called to hotel hill view to change our room.
4. Its almost 10 pm and we any how survived with bad quality of dinner in hotel great ananda and went back to hotel hill view by crossing the highway.
5. After reaching to hotel hill view they changed our room (bit better than earlier) and its arond 11 pm.
6. Next day Morning 7 am we checked out from the hotel.
Its totally frustrating experience for us. I am requesting to guys never book this hotel.
Actually there is rating options from 1 to 5 only but they deserv for zero. From my side I give them a big zero.

We was here for one night and found that we don't have control for room AC. Bathroom and rooms was ok. Parking was on the road. You can easily visit Har ki Poudi and Shanti Kunj. Room staf service was good.

The hotel is located away from the main city on Haridwar-Rishikesh highway. I was coming from Triveni ghat and looking for a hotel to stay inn. I saw few hotel and finally reached "The Great Ananda". I saw the hotel room and other amenities and decided to stay in this hotel which was a good decision. I stayed in this hotel only one night and it was a very nice experience. The hotel staff was good and food was delicious. There was a separate dining hall for all the guests.
The hotel was neat and clean and the staff member were visiting on call to check whether we need something. The hotel staff was very polite and hospitable. I will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting haridwar.
