Set in the middle of the city very close to a mosque and very busy Sunday market this hotel is simply gorgeously furnished.
We had a large comfortable room on the lower ground floor complete with a small courtyard garden.
The textile museum is stunning with many good exhibits that change.
I would have given this 5 stars if it hadnât been for a rat that was seen by my other half run across the floor of the Greenhouse restaurant into the kitchen area. A member of staff kicked it out of the way, but guess this could be a common occurrence in a city with so much trash.
We never tried the traditional Gujarati restaurant which looked delightful. There is also a bbq area on the rooftop but at the time of our visit the temperatures were far too low for us to sit outside.
Staff and service were excellent.
Would stay here again if in Ahmedebad.

Historical building with a lot of pleasant open spaces. Beautiful swimmingpool. Large rooms and balcony terraces. Classic furniture fitting in the environment. Great vegetarian restaurant with lots of healty stuff

We loved our stay at the House of MG. It is very well situated in the city of Ahmedabad. The room was beyond fantastic. It was large, beautifully furnished and so comfortable. The whole hotel is just beautiful. It is a feast for the eyes. We especially loved the textile museum located in the hotel. The restaurant was nice but they had some service issues while we were there. We would highly recommend staying here. It is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in.

I write this review on behalf of my international guests who I put up there.This is a place where one should put up their international guests. Online booking will give you the best rates. The food is local and vegetarian and is delicious and unique. You can take heritage walks and local sight seeings. Best way to explore the inner city is to ask for auto-rickshaw (tuk-tuk) tours. The reception can arrange that. There is a great restaurant on the ground floor that serves snacks and the one on the terrace serves full meals.

The surrounding takes you into old world Ahmedabad, and the excellent food just tickles your taste buds. We had Nariyal kothmir tikki, makkai roti, sarson ka saag, sev puri chaat and couple of juices. The nariyal kothmir tikki is a must have.
