I was travelling around India and had stayed in a couple of other luxury hotels in Delhi in between travels, and felt that the Lodhi was just short of the mark and a tad overpriced. Part of this is down to my own taste - I found the contemporary decor and slabs of stone very cold. The hallway carpets were tired and the hall lights weren't switched on for ages so it was pretty dark. But I also found in most of the other hotels that the staff would always be one step ahead of your needs, and this was slightly amiss at the Lodhi.
On arrival, I was greeted with thumping DJ music, lasted until about 4pm. I wasn't told in advance that there was a pre-wedding party on in the main courtyard which the balconies overlook, and that the following day the main wedding was taking place there too! Not very relaxing, so they kindly cancelled my second night's booking with them. When I asked about why there was no advance warning, they said they had actually contacted all guests who had booked directly with them, but contacting booking.com's guests (who I booked through) was 'too complex'...?
Excellent breakfast at Elan. The best porridge and pancakes I had in Delhi! Bed was average, wifi was fine.
I think a lot of people get caught up with the private plunge pool, which would be beautiful for romantic getaways and couples. But it is very small and it's what you pay the premium for I think.

We stayed 5 nights at The Lodhi in Delhi for vacation purposes. The Lodhi room was stunning, spacious and contemporary. The terrace with private pool a nice addition. Breakfast at Elan was excellent, the pool area is very inviting and relaxing. Overall service is excellent. A place to return to!!

Enjoyed our stay, room is huge and spacious, shower got good pressure, lots of channels on TV, plenty of bottled water for daily use. Breakfast & dinner was good, staff very friendly, helpful, smiley, polite, friendly, chatty & makes one very comfortable staying at the premises.

We stayed at many luxury hotels during our 2017 trip to India and the Lodhi was one of the let downs.
We stayed in one of their large rooms with a private plunge pool. The pool was cute but we didn't use it since the pollution in Delhi was so bad.
The hotel is well located but it was fairly noisy. You could head honking sometimes in the morning for instance.
The hotel felt tired. The rugs in the hallways were spotted and wrinkled. The room was tired - furniture was worn, the safe was old and didn't fit a laptop, the plugs near the bed didn't work well, the bathroom was worn (for instance the tub was rusty).
Service seems mediocre. No one welcomed us or said goodbye when we entered or departed. We didn't use the concierge so can't comment. Breakfast was ok but slow service with a nice selection of items off of a menu but it couldn't compare to the breakfasts at the Aman or Oberoi hotels we stayed at.

This hotel is one of the best property in Delhi with plunge pool options in most of the rooms with a decent amount in which no one can experience a plunge pool in Delhi NCR...the rooms are big enough with a huge balcony with a great view and of course the private pool
