Value for money but can be better

It was my second time in Oakwood. Here is a detailed explanation of my experience:
1) Location - This hotel is centrally located - near the Good Luck Square on the Bhandarkar road. Thus, if one needs to commute to nearby areas in the central part of the city, then this is a great location to be in. Eating joints on the FC road and JM road are at a walking distance.
2) Quality of rooms - The interiors of the room have been maintained well. Rooms are clean and tidy. I was with my family (wife and 2 small kids) and stayed in the Superior room having two single beds (which were joined together after check-in) and a sofa that was convertible into a bed. My kids were able to sleep on this sofa and thus there was no need to worry about a mattress for my kids. Even after unfolding the sofa into a bed, the room felt spacious. This aspect is a big plus for a family with small kids. One more point worth mentioning is that the quality of towels (bath and hand towels) is also good. They seem to have a fresher collection of towels which can be judged by the extent of crispiness and whiteness. So good marks to the hotel here as well. Another good point is the design of the windows.. there is narrow granite seating area at the base of the glass covered windows which gives a nice look to the room.
3) Toilet - This is where the hotel fares badly. The toilets need to be renovated. We had to change our room because the commode was not clean enough. The toilet in the other room also showed signs of needing an urgent renovation. The hotel management should take this feedback very seriously. The area between the commode and bath tub/bathing area, the corners etc look very dirty. They need to renovate the toilets if they want people to have an enjoyable stay.
4) Breakfast - This can be improved. They mostly have a fixed menu everyday - except for one or two dishes that change. Quality of food is okay.
5) Service of staff - The quality of service - housekeeping, front desk, restaurant is good.
Quiet and good business stay in Deccan Gymkhana

I am not sure why I have not come across this hotel before. Discovered this place only in January 2018. Deccan Gymkhana is my favourite place to stay in Pune. It is very central to middle class shopping, a variety of restaurants like Vaishali, Wadeshwar, Shreyas, Roopali, etc. The Oakwood, is a classy business hotel, compact, neat and functional. It is located so close to the Goodluck chowk which is the centre of Deccan Gymkhana, on the Bhandarkar Road but it is pretty quiet. The rooms are on the smaller side but very efficiently laid out. The bed, working desk, bathroom, etc. are all very adequate for a single person. it could feel a little cramped if 2 people stay in the room. The breakfast buffet spread was decent. The service could do with a little more warmth. For the location, the price of about Rs.3000 per night is a pretty good deal.
Decent hotel, well located but a tad over priced

Have stayed here more than on e. I like it except that it hurts to pay that much, maybe I am not rich enough. The brwKfast is nice though and the rooms are good too. Bathrooms could be slightly better.

This is a nice business hotel. Although not new, it is quite well maintained. The rooms are quiet and spacious. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The sleep quality was awesome. We had ordered the dinner in the room. The room service was quick and tasted wow. The breakfast spread was elaborate and excellent. WiFi was free with good connectivity. The reception service was quick and courteous. Can say value for money. So, must try
Efficient Hotel with a great location

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights to attend a close family wedding in Pune. The location is just perfect and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and cafes. The shopping area is very close by too. Its a road with a green cover to enable one to walk around and explore the entire area on foot.
Rooms are clean with good quality linen, bathrooms are small but efficient. They do have an issue with hot running water especially in the winters of Pune.
The hotel staff is accommodative and friendly.
