Lovely hidden gem

Stayed for a night during the âchrimbo limboâ between Christmas and New Year just the two of us away from the teenage kids. The house was lovely and decorated beautifully with a real tree. We stayed in the stables and it was large, clean and very nice. After eating out in Lavenham we returned to the drawing room for Madeira. The honesty bar is a great idea. Olde world charm. Breakfast was good quality too. Donât want too many people to find out about this lovely little place as I donât want it to change. Tom was very helpful and a nice chap. Ideally positioned opposite the lovely church in a quiet hamlet and a 10 minute drive from Lavenham. We will definitely return.
A Fantastic Find

A wonderful chance find on Hotel.com
The location was brilliant, the building was historic and the room large and comfortable. Tom the Butler was welcoming and professional.
Will make every effort to visit again.

Beautiful historic house in a lovely hamlet. Booked last minute and had a lovely room in the stables. Large and elegantly furnished with a great shower. Relaxation and calm permeated throughout our short stay. Breakfast especially good. Highly recommend for those times you would like a special relaxing stay. There are numerous activities available outdoor swimming pool and tennis court but not used as it was October. Would be lovely in summer. Highly recommend and some great Suffolk wool villages like Lavenham and Long Medford nearby.

I highly recommend The Old Rectory Country House. Itâs a beautifully decorated place, steeped in history. Itâs very homely, clean and comfortable. First class service from Tom the butler! I think the owners need to give Tom some time off, as he is very obviously a grafter and could definitely do with some work on his tan ð. Thanks for a lovely stay.
What a wonderful last minute find!

A couple of weeks ago it was incredibly busy in Suffolk, accommodation wise. There was no room at the Inn, & certainly not along the Suffolk coast. So to find the sort of accommodation we like was proving to be difficult until I came across the Old Rectory on this site. There is a level of personal service here which is very special. We only stayed 1 night, but I loved the furnishings in our bedroom, the stocked fridge, the views, breakfast with other guests - very sociable & much better than a silent dining room oh, and finding a little French restaurant in Sudbury called The Secret Garden. Tick, tick tick. Tom sent me my earrings which I left behind. Thank you & we'll be back.
