Stayed in this hotel on my recent trip to Dublin. Could not really fault the hotel, hotel itself was lovely, rooms slightly dated and could do with a a refurb (but not a major deal as still comfortable). Clean hotel, with iron, kettle and hairdryer in room which is always handy. We had breakfast included which also could not be faulted- buffet style with something for everyone(cooked breakfast, fruits,cereals, toast). A lot to do within the hotel itself as well as a few things near by. Centre is not difficult to access from the hotel with the red line LUAS just a 5 minute walk away. Would stay here again and recommend.

Ok, lets be very clear about this, I was to attend a siminar in this hotel on a Thursday so my office booking me in to stay on the Wednesday, I was a little bit..concerned after reading some of the reviews. Having stayed there I can say I deem many of the extreemly negitive reviews as disingenuinious to say the least.
It is not a "luxury" hotel by any means. The carpets in the hallways were very threadbare in places. My sideboard had marks on it from people putting hot drinks on it. The carpet in my room had a big burn mark where somone had left a hot iron down on it. In places it was a bit "tired" looking. But this was not an issue it was all superfacial considering the value for money I was getting.
My room was very clean. It was lovely and warm (for those complaining about hot rooms..you CAN regulate the heat).
The bathroom was spotless as far as I could see and yes the nozzle had a crack in it but it worked perfectly despite this.
The lady at reception of eastern Eurpoean extraction had better English than some Irish that I know and couldn't have been nicer and more helpful.
I had secure underground FREE parking.
My dinner was fine in the Bar, again the staff were friendly.
My breakfest was a full irish served on a buffet, it was nice.
I had chicken wings at lunch time the next day and they were very tasty and cost only â¬5.65 (approx.).
The tired fixtures and fittings aside (and they are not as bad as some make out here) I had a good restful nights stay and the facilities for the siminar were spot on as well.
If I had to give out about anything it was the chips in my evening meal...the fish was perfectly cooked but you gotta do something about those chips they are not great..but still were ok.
If you are expecting a plush upmarket Shelburne hotel go pay for it don't expect it on a budget. This hotel does everything it says on the tin.

Left very disappointed in your service on Friday night. After booking two triple rooms on Thursday night over the phone with a lady from the desk, I arrived with my family on Friday only to find my name wasnât in the system and the booking was never made in the first place, leaving us with no place to go!
I had rang three times, and dealt the same lady who had an Eastern European accent who assured me there was no need to pay in advance to secure the booking, but then took my card details anyway! The booking was never made, leaving me an my family no place to go after travelling up from the country to attend a funereal. Disgrace all together

We returned to the Plaza Hotel for Christmas Day Dinner Experience and entertainment on the 25th this year,, only to find our experience in 2016 was far better! The selection of buffet food was not laid out as nicely as the year before it was rough and ready. The dinner portions were smaller I only got two carrots and a sprig of brocolli with a small amount of meat and some potato, in comparision to bowls of veg and potato that were left out as extras last year.
We really enjoyed the band they made our day,, although people seemed to leave early leaving a poor athmosphere. We heard a few people around us complaining of the poor show in comparision to 2016. We like so may others save up throughout the year to ensure a memorial Christmas and feel that it just was not worth it this year. We paid 360.00 for two adults and two teens for the dinner.
The staff were nice some we recognised from last time whom we are sure did there best. We would not book in again for Xmas Day. 2018 unless we heard of major changes

The hotel is in great location with parking at front,the room is clean and warm,however breakfast does not start to 7am not any good if conducting business else where ,the bar is OK the Guinness is good staff fine,but food very expense with 13euro for a Burger, the carpets thread bare in many places,reception staff OK,the hotel is OK for 1or 2over nights,it is a large b and b clean and warm but nothing outstanding about it
