We stayed here for two nights on a Package holiday. The bathroom was filthy, mould on walls, shower water never even warm. Pool linings at sides, end and bottom filthy. Not been cleaned for a long time. Water however warmer than our shower in the bathroom. Food at all meals dire, never hot and Samey. Breakfast was the worst selection we have ever experienced. Tables never laid. Cutlery had to be collected from central point in room. Hotplates sometimes without heating flame on under container and lids left open. Food never hot, even the soup was tepid. Food served on cold plastic plates. Mould on walls in bedroom. Near to river so wonder if the hotel has suffered flooding in the past. Reading previous good reviews very hard to understand from our experience. Even our guide said it had been the same 11 years previously when he visited and nothing done to improve the same complaints then. Perhaps all on our tour were just unlucky. One couple moved rooms three times before getting an average room. Management never addressed the dirty bathroom or lack of even warm water. Photo shows bathroom wall near shower!

The Retreat/Hotel is in Cheruthuruthy (in the Thrissur District), next to River Bharathappuzha and is just off the Thrissur Shoranur Road. I stayed there for a couple of days, It was a decent pleasant enough hotel and room. My room had aircon, good WiFi & the pool was OK, the breakfast was adequate. It's secluded and yet only a 5 minute walk to the street where the shops are, one of which is the Nila Bake House (part of a chain) which has a modern coffee shop in the back run by pleasant staff. Also nearby on the same Thrissur Shoranur Road is a classical Indian dance school that's worth visiting.

I spent 2 days back in October. Memorable stay, service and staff very nice and helpful. The general manager puts his personal touch to make sure that the stay is enjoyable and the guests have a great time in the Hotel and the region. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Kerala.

The retreat on the banks of Bharathappuzha river is a former summer villa of the Majaraja of Cochin. The rooms need some redoing. The electric sockets did not work properly and the bathrooms which had no windows also need attention. There was a power outage whilst I was shaving and had to feel my around to come out. The restaurant was fine. The staff were polite and doing their best to accommodate our requests. The proximity of the river invited mosquitos and other bugs to outdoor tables. I am sure the management is aware of improvements needed and will work on it.

Visited along with a group of 50 people for a family day trip. The place is located on the banks of Bharathapuzha.
The rooms provided were very spacious and clean. As a part of our package they had provided us with Kerala food and Chinese options. The food was very tasty and our group really enjoyed the food.
They also provided us various activities like Archery, Balloon shooting, Badminton, Cricket and other Indoor gaming options. Also they have a small park for the kids with slides and swings. They have good outdoor spaces with lawn and shade for organizing outdoor activities
The swimming pool located on the banks of river was small in size but well maintained. We had a great time together with family in the pool.
The resort also provides ayurvedic treatment facility in conjunction with some of the leading Ayurvedic facilities.
Overall everyone in our group was happy with the place.... A very good place to consider for a family/ group outing..
