Tranquil Villa

Sanyas Retreat located in the heart of tranquil rice terrace. A truly perfect retreat for the weekend!
The view was fantastic and the villa was clean, with a nice bathtub, greeny garden and superb staff.
The food was great but since they cooked it out of the house, you have to order at least 3 hours prior.
Great hotel to relax

This was the first hotel we stayed at during our holiday, we picked it since all the villa's are in Balinese style. Very friendly staff, nice and spacious villa. Great infinity pool from which you can see rice terraces!
As it was our first encounter with Bali, we were very pleased with mr Nyoman's help! He was so kind, always ready to drive us around to the best spots for dining or to any temple worth a visit, giving us good advice and help. We were very happy with our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who might be looking for an authentic, peaceful place amidst Balinese nature.
Peaceful and Awesome

We were so bored in a busy South Bali and searched a quiet area to stay. The Sanyas Retreat is located in a very quiet and peaceful area - Kerambitan, Tabanan.
It stands surround beautiful rice fields and gardens. The rooms are quiet spacious and has all facilities you need. Anyway the spa was GOOD
Peaceful piece of heaven

The Sanyas Retreat is such a lovely and friendly place to stay on Bali!
We used it as a base to visit beautiful places like Jatiluwih rice fields, Pura Tanah Lot, Yeh Gangga beach, Pura Taman Ayun. It's a rural spot, quite a drive from anywhere, but that's what make it such a tranquil haven. We drove around on a scooter to visit the region, not always the most relaxing and quiet option...
The large property is taken very well care of. Pretty views of the paddies, a fantastic swimmingpool and relaxing gardens.
Our 'Joglo' villa was just perfect! Warm, intimate decoration, spacious, super comfortable bed, a gorgeous bathroom with romantic bathtub, a very private and big terrace. Really top!
Breakfast and dinner weren't really inspiring, but that's Indonesia, and the quality of the food was good.
A special word about the service: it was the kindest in the whole of Indonesia (which is already one of the kindest countries in the world). They go out of their way to take care of you. We felt very welcome.
So, pretty much everything about this place is great, so just stay here if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle and are looking fo a peaceful retreat.
Beautiful haven with excellent customer service

I stayed in the joglo style villa (2 bedrooms plus a living area) with a work colleague for 16 days. The resort is exquisite. The staff is exceptional. We got an amazing internet price! Nestled on a hill by rice fields in the village of Baturiti in Tabanan regency, this is a lovely haven that is not at all in the center of any tourism - but the sites you wish to see are easily accessible by car. There is a lovely walk down to the village of Kerambitan which has a great pasar (market) and where the people are lovely. This is a Balinese owned property and all the staff are local - which I personally value greatly. They have a personal interest in the success of the place, and their care shows in everything that they do. It is a great place to stay and experience TRUE Bali - not tourist Bali - in a beautiful setting with great care.
The lodging is lovely. The bedrooms have AC. However, it would be wonderful if - in the Joglo house - there was a wardrobe within which to store/hang clothing. All of the clothes had to be stacked on top of a small side chest. I would have loved to have been able to store my clothes (The few drawers they had stuck from the humidity). A hook in the bathroom would also be helpful. For those renting the joglo, it is an antique lodge from Java that was transported and rebuilt in Bali. As such, parts of it are more rustic. The living room area does not have AC, but that never bothered us. It was lovely and serene at all times. The bedrooms are lovely, with a netted canopy bed, and AC. The bathrooms were beautiful and partially open - as is very common in Bali. The toilet is western and there was a tub and shower. Please note that there are a variety of villas/lodging available and all are a bit different. There is also a gorgeous spa available onsite (though we did not utilize it). The photos on the site are not exaggerations. It really is that lovely.
The wifi signal was not as strong as I would have preferred. With only two of us staying at the resort at that time, it would struggle to even keep up with just the two of us, and regularly logged us out of connection. Stronger enhanced wifi would be good. However - it was free and available, which was much appreciated. Also - perhaps drill down the drain covers in the bathroom of the joglo. This IS Indonesia so there are critters to be found now and then - keep the drain covers locked, please. :) A rubbish bin over it did the trick while we were there. It is in no way reason to avoid this place. It is lovely and I would absolutely stay there again.
The staff was incredible. Breakfast was included with our rate and a huge, delicious breakfast arrived every day at the time of our choosing. It was delicious and always delivered and set up with care and a smile. The staff also would send our laundry out for cleaning and pressing upon request (which was a lot due to the heat of Bali) - I would regularly have about 10 pieces of laundry done for only around $1.50 US and it came back immaculate within one day.
The grounds are exquisitely beautiful. So well maintained and lush and stunning. It is a true retreat and is aptly named. The pool is great and so refreshing and lovely. When we took advantage of it, the staff would set up towels with flowers and raise the umbrellas. We also dined at the retreat for dinner - we selected our menu in advance and were served outdoors on the beautiful terrace. It was so lovely and serene.
Best of all was the staff. Nyoman, the manager, is top notch. Made is an extraordinary young woman who served with care and grace. They were so helpful and kind and treated us like family. They would kindly inquire about our return time for the day when we would leave for work and when we would get back to the retreat our room would have lights on for us and the beds would have been prepared for the evening. No matter when we arrived, someone would always come out to warmly greet us and at night they would discretely escort us to our rooms with flashlights - though the path was sufficiently lit.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you are interested in a true retreat, with true Balinese hospitality and stunning scenery that is removed from (but within reasonable distance) of tourist attractions, please consider the Sanyas Retreat. When we left we were truly sad - we felt like we were leaving family. The entire staff saw us off and waved and wished us well. A remarkably lovely experience.
