Visited only for one night.
Reception efficient with upgrade offers etc.
Room was on 3rd floor overlooking The Strand, quiet surprisingly. Clean and tidy but nothing special.
Didn't eat as we thought it a bit expensive and a massive queue for breakfast

As ever, the reception staff are very efficient and helpful. Room is clean and well serviced.
Snacks were great in the bar, freshly cooked and tasty.
Would have said 5 stars if breakfast is a bit more efficiently run. I had to wait ages for coffee and then had to demand this..I was on a tight schedule and I left having had only a very small breakfast .

Thereâs a pleasant doorman with a top hat, ample public space with comfy seating, free newspapers, a concierge, currency exchange and bottles of beer in the lounge bar at £8.50 a pop - all of which suggest a superior hotel. Then we get to our room, a supposed double which has only one chair, one bedside light and one bedside table - because the other side of the bed is rammed against the wall, forcing the person sleeping next to it has to climb over his/her partner if they need the loo at night. Methinks that this is a single room being sold as a double, at £140 a night. Thatâs not good enough, and neither are the worn lobby furnishings and tired lobby decor. The location is great. The staff we encountered friendly and helpful. Now the rooms and the lobby have to match them.

The Strand is in a beautiful old building very close (walking distance) to Covent Garden. It's a big hotel with a lot of rooms. We spent 2 nights there and were supposed to have a cosy double and were proposed a slightly bigger room for a small amount so we did. Well, thank God we did because our room was still quite small... It was at the end of the hall but still a bit noisy in the morning... The mattress could have been better and the bed is rather small. We did not have breakfast at the hotel. We would probably go back mostly because of the location. London hotels are expensive and often too expensive for what they are. The Strand is at least clean and there is a concierge helping you with Musicals, Shows, etc.

I stay at this hotel every time I come to London. The location is excellent, very close to the Covent Garden tube station (Piccadilly line, which runs straight to the Heathrow airport). There are also bus stops nearby with buses running virtually in all directions.
The rooms are quite spacious and clean, and every day the guests are provided with tea, coffee, biscuits, and water. The breakfast is very good.
There are also computers and printers, and I hear there is a free gym available to the guests, but I've never used it.
The interiors look a bit dated, but that's not an issue for me. One real disadvantage is that there is no fridge in the room.
Also, your quality of sleep will depend on your luck - sometimes it can be quite noisy.
