Tranquil nest is quite, well maintained resort with excellent food, with many trekking options, bird watching options and with lush green coffee estate.
We planned for family get together and it worked out to be perfect place for us. Best is location as it is very quite and not crowded like Kodaikannal, next best is food and they have awesome chef, next best is lush green estate with bird watching options. It is value for money with complete full board option. We were there for 4 days and time went so fast with family. Highly recommended for family trips and nature explorers.
Absolute justice to the name!! Tranquil it was!!

We two families had been at Tranquil Nest Resort for a couple of days last weekend and absolutely loved the resort and facilities. First things first, the food - all veg menu that deserve 5 stars no doubt. The location was very serene, amidst sprawling coffee estates with well maintained and clean rooms. (Rooms provided with electric kettle, complementary tea/cfy, drinking water in flasks, nice clean towels, soaps and shampoo). The approach to the resort from the road was slightly steep (if not 4x4 or a vehicle with decent pulling capacity with clearance - might struggle. But do not worry the resort staff offers to help in taking your vehicle up nice and smooth if needed). Nice garden, walking paths and clean dining hall. Has a basket ball court which we effectively utilized. The service was absolutely fantastic and people very friendly and helpful. Birders come with your field guide and glasses you'd love this place.
Loved:
1) Food food food (non vegetarians pls. excuse)
2) Kids/Baby friendly resort
3) People & facilities
To improve
None specific unless i be a bit nit picky - inside woods insects are bound to be there but in the dining hall can try using insect nets or something but that is just a minor minor glitch.
Would love to go again any day...Thanks Tranquil Nests for providing a couple of days in tranquility.
Tranquil, it is.

We drove from Chennai. It is close to Kodai but without all the crowds and pollution. It is at an elevation of about 3000 feet and therefore cool even in summer. The ghat section takes about an hour to negotiate through beautiful green forest. We switched off the AC and enjoyed the beautiful greenery. From the main road to the estate was a steep climb of about 500 metres. It is a very beautifully deigned resort in that every room faces the mountains. Each room has a sit out with a table and two chairs to enjoy the view. There are also some gazebos closer to the edge. We were lucky to have one just outside our room. The rooms are decent sized and have enough space for a couple of extra beds, a dressing area and a bathroom. They are clean and well maintained. Towels, soap and shampoo are provided apart from a kettle for coffee and tea.
The food was really excellent. It is really home away from home. The staff take care to see that they provide hot food whenever possible. The breakfast consists of two dishes as well as bread and eggs cooked to request. Lunch is a typical south Indian lunch with rice, sambar, rasam, curd, curry and a dal. The sweeet mango pickle was mention worthy! Tea and biscuits are served in the evening. Dinner is a couple of tiffin items each day. The podi idlis were simply great. The non-vegetarians have a couple of special dishes for them at lunch and dinner. Every meal comes with a dessert. The bread halwa was outstanding.
The tariff is very reasonable and includes all three meals. It is a beautiful place to relax and rejuvenate. It is also close enough to touristy places if you are so inclined. What we wanted was treks in the forest and birding and this was available in plenty. We also met a few interesting people and had lively evening discussions and singing sessions!
It is a difficult to navigate to the rooms and to the dining area for seniors and those having mobility problems.
Hats off to the owners and the staff for providing us with a lovely and memorable holiday. Next time, we will visit Siruvani hills for birding!
If you must go, shop around first

Perhaps you have some work around Thandikudi, or you are fed up with the crowds at Kodai and wanted a quieter place, whatever the reason ... first shop around for better prices for the same resort or for similar nearby places.
It is perhaps one of the neatest, cleanest places I have stayed in recent times. The attention to cleanliness beats star hotels. The rooms are simple and have government guest house or ashram like austere feel. Most of the resort was empty and there was loads of privacy. The management has purpose built several gazebos and canopies to accomodate groups as large as 30 people. This could be a great place for large family or office getaways where the focus is on group play and work.
The food was simple and homely. There was some sort of view of a valley. We could have easily got bored with a stay more than a night here. It could be a good retreat for a writer or an artist or simply someone wanting to be cloistered away from the world. The Thandikudi village was uncomfortably close and on festival or marriage days the loud speakers will keep you company.
Bird life was plenty but of the most common variety. Babblers, RV bulbuls, parekeets, sunbirds , flower peckers and the occasional velvet fronted nutatch.
The last mile has not been marked on google map, but one can reach within asking distance. They do have a tiny quarter plate size green board on the main road which is easy to miss. The high incline and cobble stones may make your small city car protest but is perfectly safe.
This resort like any other has variable prices. Drop in customers may end up paying lot more. So it is advisable to check online portals first. Another guest with a much larger family in two rooms was paying 40% lesser than us. When pointed out the management gave us some consideration.
I may not go back here for pleasure. But for work in the vicinty , if the prices are right , it is a safe clean place to stay.
Best stay
