What People are saying

Unique Game Lodge

ApacheTrout on 02/02/2018 02:08

We really enjoyed our 3 day stay amongst the trees. A thoroughly attentive and knowledgeable lodge manager, excellent meals that were as good or better than any we experienced in a 3 week India visit, and a beautiful porch outside our room that was perfect for relaxing between game drives. A particularly nice feature was the pre-dinner hour long video on some aspect of Indian wildlife shown every night, complete with appetizers and drinks..The staff could not have been more accommodating to our every need. One member of our party wanted to try mahua, a local alcoholic beverage made from the mahua flower. No problem .A bottle was waiting for us as a night cap when we returned from a night game drive.

One drawback to staying in a tree house during the winter months - the rooms are cold, the "shower" is a bucket of hot water with a cup to pour water over your head, and the main lodge/dining area is wide open. The chill factor is somewhat mitigated by hot water bottles in your bed, and portable wood burning fire pits at table side, but still...

This is a great place and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Be aware of cold night and morning temperatures in January or come when it is warmer.

A Dream like Experience

Recently back from a weekend trip to Bandhavgarh and still wondering which was the most endearing part of the holiday, siting the beast in his own kingdom (tiger), living a dream (our one night two days stay at the Tree House Hideaway) or the service that we received from the entire staff at the Tree House Hideaway, from the moment we landed at their gates. After a huge delay, thanks to Indian Railways, and a late start to our already short trip, we finally made our way to the resort, but what surprised us was the concern with which each and every staff greeted us, as if they were so long waiting for our arrival and showed huge concern of our arrival getting delayed. After quick refreshments which by the way was amazing and kind of gave us a hint about the upcoming service, we were shown to our treehouse, which was Mahua, the first one out of the 5 tree houses in the property. They enquired about our eating habits and whether we were allergic to anything, which they made sure, we were never served. I am allergic to coriander leaves, hence all my dishes were cooked separately, whereas my wife was served the same menu with coriander. Since the trip was short, hence we had to stick to our strict schedule, of safaris and other activities, but every time we stepped out, they made sure we came back to a neat and tidy room. The nights can be really cold in Bandhavgarh, with the temperature dropping down to about 5degrees, they made sure, we were comfortable. When we retired for the night, to our surprise we found, the heaters were on, the blankets were down and hot bags were placed on each side of the bed to keep us warm. I don’t know what else I could have expected. The food, the conduct, the rooms, the décor were all tastefully done, and I can assure you the welcome you’ll receive and the service you’ll get is beyond each penny you would have spent. Could write a short story on our experience at Tree House Hideaway but will leave the rest for you to find out. So the next time when you take a trip down Bandhavgarh do plan on staying a night at the Tree House Hideaway, it will only enrich your experience. And now to wrap up my experience, I can safely safe, my childhood fantasy of spending a night on a tree house in a jungle, which I experienced and enjoyed to every inch, was taken over by the exceptional service provided by the staff at Tree House Hideaway. And if I could at all think my self-eligible of rating there service, I would give them a 5 out of 5.

Idyllic Forest Retreat

Obsessive T on 29/01/2018 18:22

If I would have ever tried and visualized the image of my idyllic retreat in the forest, I don’t think I could have conjured an image better than Treehouse Hideaway. True to its name, it was a house atop a tree, inconspicuously blending and becoming an integral part of the jungle. Had it not been for the pathway clearing leading to the treehouse, one could have easily missed seeing it. Apparently, there are five such treehouses on the property but the property is so huge and the treehouses so well spaced that when you are in your own treehouse you just feel one with wilderness, with no human presence or urbanization in sight. I did later cycle around to see the other treehouses for myself. I was really fortunate to stay at the Peepal Treehouse for 4 nights and completely fell in love with its balcony and outdoor seating. As I was there in early December, the weather was just perfect to sit and paint in the balcony all day. It served as an idyllic studio for me with wooden flooring, trees in the background and birds’ songs for music.
Nights were chilly but the best part was when I return to my room post dinner and open the door, I am embraced by warmth, a stark contrast to the biting cold outside. Every night, the staff switched on the heaters and kept a warm water bottle on the bed while I was having dinner. Thus each night as I sank into the warmth of my bed, I couldn’t help but mumble, “Man this is luxury I could get used to!!”
Besides what I have already mentioned, everything else was also perfect and so well thought of. Food was extremely delicious and healthy prepared using the local ingredients. This was the first time I tasted mahua and desserts prepared using it as an ingredient and absolutely loved the flavor. I loved the use of steel water bottles refilled with RO water instead of plastic mineral water bottles, though I was carrying my own steel bottle. There was no TV or music, which helped accentuate the sounds of nature especially the chirping of birds.
Thus can’t reiterate enough, truly an idyllic break from the city and will strongly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic jungle retreat!!

Unique luxury stay....

Tree Houses is a fantastic place to stay, it is really secluded and all the tree houses were exceptional. The resort is hidden away and if you didn’t know it was there it is not obvious. There are only five tree houses so the resort is very personalised. Our tree house was great, massive four poster bed, and a lovely bathroom, it was really clean and it had a balcony looking out through the trees into the park area.

The main communal area was brilliant, another massive tree house with a bar upstairs and a library, downstairs was the reception and the restaurant. All was very clean and beautifully done out. There was even a gym … called the ‘Raw Gym’. Every evening there was a documentary played where you had starters and sat watching the documentary in front of a fire pit, which was fabulous.

All the staff at Tree Houses were exceptional, they could not do enough for you. The Manager Ashish met us on arrival and was very friendly and enthusiastic, he was passionate about the resort and wildlife, nothing was too much trouble. Karan was our guide and he was very dedicated, passionate and knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to see 4 tigers during our stay which was a dream come true. Thank You Karin for all your hard work and dedication in making that happen.

The food was delicious and they had a cottage garden to enable self-sufficiency. We were lucky enough to have two evening dinners down by the water hole. It was very beautiful, lit with lanterns and personal fire pits, this was definitely a highlight and we felt very lucky. Thank You!

All in all we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this resort. All the staff at the resort were friendly, and the electric heaters and hot water bottles were a life saver.

Excellent hospitality

My entire family and I visited this amazing place for 5 days in Dec 2017. The people make this place warm inspite of the cold nights. Rooms are large, clean and well maintained. Food is great.Campfire and a night under the stars is indeed very romantic :)) They really took care that individual food preferences were fulfilled. Mainly the safaris were amazing. Lot of wild life and they really tracked for the best sighting of tigers. Special mention to Karan Singh who drove us into safaris and did his best to make us all feel welcome. His photography and love for animals can be seen in his work.
Great team work guys!
Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends !!!
