Pulling up on the car park was strange, there was only a few spaces, I decided to park in the underground car park, bit of a fuss getting in and out but not too bad, the rooms were okay overlooking the supermarket next door, but it had not bad meal, and breakfast was quite good. Yes I would stay again, but not in a group, it took too long to check in.

We did not have great expectations before we arrived, as we stayed in other Tryps/Melias before, it usually is average chain hotel. What made this place special was definitely the staff first of all, starting with the receptionist lady (I think her name was Natalia) her excellent welcome and helpfulness in ensuring in her way that we make the best out of "her" city. We went up to our room, thinking wow thats good if all staff is like her. We found it to be the case with housekeeping (room was clean), and also the breakfast ladies. Room is well appointed and actually we liked the decor, goes with rest of the town Roman heritage. Bed was comfortable as with other Melias. Well appointed throughout. There were inexpensive vending machines in each floor with a variety of stuff in it. There is free (limited) outdoor parking of lucky or streets around has ample parking as it seems. Location wise, it is not right in the center but close walk, around 10 minutes. The hotel is next to carrefour and cinema complex. Overall, we have stayed in lot of "five star" hotels that were inferior both in terms of decor and service compared to Tryp Merida.we would stay here again if we came back.

This was nothing special. Our room was clean, but had a mirror across the entire back wall that was deco painted and unattractive. No minibar or fridge in the room. The safe wasn't operable. However, the staff were pleasant. Parking underground cost 10Euros per day.

Good location for a walk into the city center and it's many sights and good bars and restaurants. The hotel has very good facilities and friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Would stay here again

We were really very pleased with our 3 night stay. We had a large room on the top floor with a large balcony and airconditioning which worked very well - thankfully! All the staff were extremely helpful at reception and in the cafe bar where you have to go for a very pleasant and reasonable tea or coffee because there is no kettle in the room, just a mini bar. Breakfast was extensive with a good range of fresh fruit, juices, eggs meats, breads and cereals overlooking the terraced garden. The hotel is well located and quiet with two frequent buses into the old town ( it was too hot to walk 30+ C and quite a long way). The hotel is next to a huge Carrefour supermarket open 7 days, with some restaurants nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel which enabled us to really explore the outstanding Roman ruins at Merida. Highly recommend.
