The palace is extremely impressive from afar with a magnificent silhouette. Built entirely with golden yellow sandstone, it lacks the âpolishedâ look of most palaces, but compensated by the scale. I didnât get to see much of the palace, but I am sure it is very grand inside.
A part of the palace is a hotel managed by the Taj Hotels. I tried to book a meal in the hotel but failed as it was closed for a wedding. Another part which is off limit to the public is the principal residence of the Jodhpur royal family. The last part is the museum, which is open to the public.

This hotel was exceptional in accommodations, staff, food and location! Every breakfast we enjoyed live, relaxing music by Faiman Khan! I highly recommend the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur to anyone wanting a luxurious hotel with welcoming, friendly staff!

Whatâs the meaning of âbest of the best â? Of course you can find great hotels during your trip in India but this is over you can imagine.
Moving your very first step into this place you can experience the incredible welcome you can receive in India.
Iâm not going to describe the way the staff will welcome you as I donât want to ruin the surprise to you all!
It is of course unforgettable .
We had a dinner at the restaurant faced to the gardens , elegant atmosfere, delicious cuisine , excellent staff.
Room has everything you can need during your stay and much more .... in that very typical luxury style of Indian palaces.

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Our room was away from the main building and therefore quiet, important when the hotel is hosting a wedding!
We ate in the Indian restaurant mostly, it was excellent with charming staff, and once on the Terrace, also good with nice views over the grounds. Breakfast also served on the Terrace, it could be chilly in the mornings and evenings but there are heaters by each table.
The Heritage tour was very interesting as was the museum next door.
There is a lovely pool area, but a bit cool at this time of year to swim. Pleasant to sit there though with a view of the Fort.
A lovely old palace hotel with helpful and very pleasant staff, not to far from the sights of Jodhpur.
