A lot of the star hotels get too complacent in their brand names that they miss out on the most important part of the hospitality industry - the guest. Was pleasantly surprised at how courteous the guest services team at this Taj property were. Every single request was met with efficiency and quick responses. The rooms are well maintained with all amenities provided. We were on the 7th floor and got some lovely views of the city. Located in the race course area, the hotel is peaceful and away from the bustle of the main city. Enjoyed our stay here!

The Taj in Coimbatore is a solid, old school indian property with a modern feeling. The building is modern and sleek, as are the spaces, but the service has a older, relaxed, yet formal feel. People learn your name, your preferences, and greet you with a smile. The property is, like almost all in Coimbatore, set back in it's own little compound. There are three separate restaurants and a bar. The main restaurant is "multi-ethnic" Indian and Western mixed, with buffet options. The second is Chinese, the third Indian, and poolside. All provide a nice meal, if at times decidedly at a leisurely pace.
The staff can arrange cars for local destinations, or a tourist exploration, at reaosnable prices. (a 4 hour exploration in the countryside was under 50 dollar US with an air conditioned car, cheerful, somewhat english speaking driver and a complete lack of hassle.)
There isn't a "sundries" style shop, nor is there one in the immediate area. A 2 dollar uber will fetch you up at a mall if you need that, or, ask at the front desk.

Located in Race Course Road - which is the posh locality of the City where the whose who of Coimbatore resides. A very quiet locality makes the ground work of this luxury hotel.
The service is good - the in-house Chinese restaurant offers good oriental Cuisine.

An excellent hotel situated at the center of coimbatore and all the local attractions are very nearby. The rooms were big and comfortable and the breakfast spread was top notch but you get one thing which is very rarely seen, excellent service and hospitality. The chinese restaurant inside the hotel was simply superb.

I am a fan of the Taj chain of hotels. This time, I was ill on my travels and arrived at the hotel (with my friend) in a lot of pain. The staff here were superb, got me settled, and called the doctor. They even picked up the medicines that the doctor prescribed. I was in no shape to do any of that. Taj Hotels always seem to have doctors (and even ambulances) very close by and on call 24/7. The next day, each of the staff members checked to make sure I was ok. Thank you for all of your help when I needed it most!
