Nice place where spend your time in Bodhgaya. Very friendly and kind people managing the guest house. You can find help from them about anything and they are very flexible. I really recommend this place.
Expensive, basic and with leaks

If you are planning to stay there ask for attached bathroom and do not pay in advance all nights. I did it so no way to change hotel and I had to stay there for 2 weeks.
It is possible to find cheaper and cleaner.
DO-ABLE but know what to expect.

Welcome Guest House offers an excellent location; on the main road through town, steps away from the Mahabodhi Temple (now a UNESCO World Heritage Site around which the city of Bodhgaya was built), Bodhgayaâs main market which spreads out on either side of the Temple gates and immediately across the street from a long row of souvenir tents.
Bodhgaya is one of Indiaâs poorest areas and has also suffered from violence. As in much of India the building which houses Welcome Guest House was badly in need of upkeep from unattended abuse, moisture damage and lack of cleaning practices.
In room 301 (most expensive style room) the toilet seat was broken, only one window had a screen, the curtains were thin enough to see through if one side was dark and the other lit. The ceiling fan was okay for December (an in-window air-conditioner was offered). The room lacked a closet with hangers, instead offered hooks on the back of the door. A large table, two straight back chairs, a small tv and two single beds furnished the room. We had to ask Pabu, who showed us to the room, to please remake the beds with clean linen; then ask for towels; then toilet paper ⦠each time he hung around supposedly waiting (unsuccessfully) for a tip with each âextraâ. Once the room was supplied with clean linens, towels and toilet paper we felt the price provided reasonable value for our one night stay as well as having a place to store our luggage until we left for the overnight train from Gaya to Delhi.
Before leaving we used a shared bathroom on one of the other floors ⦠it was dirty and the water from the sink went a down the drain, through a pipe which protruded only a short distance below the sink and then splashed onto the floor wetting the washerâs feet and legs. In the dark and grimy hallway, garbage piled up beside room doors was being search by mice.
For one night it is do-able, however, with peddle/auto rickshaws costing so little, it may be more pleasant, if spending more time, to stay elsewhere and commute to the temples.
