We have visited this hotel on numerous occasions for food which has always been to a great standard. We decided to stay over on the 6th of January to attend a function near by. The room was lovely very clean and comfortable. The hotel in general is spotless and staff are really friendly. It represents great value for money and we definitely will return

Booked this hotel for an overnight stop to attend a New Year's Eve concert in the City. I was expecting prices to be high at this time but I was pleasantly surprised by how competitive the cost was. My room was toasty warm, spotlessly clean and I felt good that my choice was spot on. Hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and offered good advice about how to get to the concert recommending I travel by bus instead of taking my car. The next morning the receptionist who had been on duty the night before was anxious to know how I got on and if I had any difficulties getting back so late at night. Would really recommend this hotel not only for the price, facilities and courteous staff but because there is public transport right outside the building with quick access to the City Centre. I would also like to mention how helpful bus drivers,
Guards and members of the public were to a total stranger who didn't know Dublin but was helped all the way! Pleasant experience especially the concert which was simply amazing.

I stayed here for two nights. The big issue with this hotel is the lack of feeling secure due to the poorly fitting bedroom doors and their ancient door locks. Wether I was going to sleep or going out for a walk I was always concerned about how easily someone could get into my room. As a lone traveller it caused me much anxiety.
Also if using public transport there is no return bus stop close by. So walking around in an unknown area after dark is also scary. I got SO lost after the bus driver gave me the wrong directions for after I got off the bus. I ended up having to stop a taxi and asking for their help finding my hotel. NOT for the faint of heart in a strange country. I have to say that 98% of the staff in this Hotel are lovely, and very helpful. The breakfasts are good, but the dishwashing machine may need its filters cleaned a little more often as the silverware, and cups felt grainy.

6 people for carvery lunch, i had corned beef, cabbage, carrots, mash, roasties and gravy and it was absolutely gorgeous, the joint of corned beef was so succulent and tasty as nice as i remembered it, i always have it when travelling to Dublin.

Last week I brought a friend who is recovering from a hip replacement and on crutches for lunch in the West County Hotel bar. Ample parking directly outside and no steps. The carvery lunch offered several choices. I had a half portion of silverside and my friend the Irish stew. Both meals were delicious and the complimentary tea/coffee was brought to our table after the meal. You never feel rushed here and the service was excellent. Plenty space at the tables and of course great views.
