Teetotal, eccentric anglo-indian cuisine with comfortable accommodation in villas on tranquil cardamom plantation hilltop, surrounded by breathtaking views, tea plantations, outside Munnar where Tea Museum is worth a visit. Great pool, complementary afternoon tea, library; walks require energy and approriate footwear!

Stayed here late January 2018.
This boutique style hotel is a collection of separate bungalows sited above a spice plantation. It is a beautiful location, peaceful and relaxing. Ideally situated for visiting tea plantations. A bonus is a guided tour of the adjacent spice plantation late afternoon.
Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, rooms cosy and well maintained. A plus is that the manager is hands on, greeting guests on arrival and seeing them off on departure.
Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast prepared to order. Evening meal was a set Indian meal of good quality. For the less fit there are a lot of steps down to the individual properties.
Would highly recommend.

Set in beautifully maintained and peaceful surroundings. Large rooms, if sparsely furnished. Fast wifi.
Outstanding food. Dinner is a set menu but superb quality. If you are lucky you may be there when they have their famous bread and butter pudding for dessert...utterly delicious. Sadly no alcohol licence. Breakfast was good. Staff are all attentive and friendly.
Complimentary tea and snack in tea house in the afternoon.
We had a wonderful stay.

To get to this property, we had to use the free jeep transport from the main road, which only takes 5 minutes.It is well set out with stunning view over the valley and hills.
Meals were waiter served and tasty. The staff were wonderful.
I gave this only 4 stars as our room was in the older part and was dated and small with no fridge.
That said, we still had a nice 2 night stay.

The first thing you notice is the setting,high up overlooking the cardamom plantation with the tea plantation down in the valley and so peaceful.The room in the bungalow although not modern was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you required.There was an outside balcony where you could sit and admire the views and watch the birds.The dinner was a set menu but the food,service and ambience were excellent,the only problem being we could never manage the desert because we were too full.The breakfast had good selection of both hot & cold food (eggs cooked to your choice) cereals, fruits and you could have breakfast outside which was ideal.Our visit around the plantation was organised by our tour operator with a local guide and we would certainly recommend it,the walk took about two hours and was very informative and we saw the cardamom being picked(the hotel also provides a tour with a guide).The pool area is well maintained and clean,a good place to relax.Our stay was highlighted by the staff who are not only professional but are very friendly and could not have been more accommodating they are a credit to the hotel,indeed at night we were escorted by one of the staff to the dining room with him lighting the way with a torch,a thoughtful touch.The wi-fi was adequate,we would certainly recommend Windermere Plantation for stay it would certainly take a lot of beating.We are already missing the birds dawn chorus.
