We have been there in business trip. Location is in the center of Almaty, Nice hotel, cozy and clean rooms, professional service, really good breackfast and a good english spoken by everybody.
We will come back for sure

i have done an extensive search for a hotel in Almaty and couldn't decide , finally came across hotel "saltanat" and saw that all reviews were positive not a single negative one , so I made my choice .
I checkd various web site for the best rate and realized that the hotel web site beat them all . I paid 360$ for 4 nights including breakfast .
I have arrived on oct 15 th , checkd out 19/10 and I stayed in room 500, on fifth floor.
I arrived mid day and the receptionist was dimash, great guy , very friendly and easy going very good start .
the room was great !! the pics just do it injustice its much better in reality !! super modern with colors of orange and white , very contemporary design . it has everything, mini bar, safe coffee maker, fax, and tv with some English channels. there is no bath tub only shower but I am fine with that. everything is clean and super contemporary design !
I had a view of the mountains with their snow covered peaks .
on to breakfast which was very good , smoked fish , eggs to order , fruits, kazak dishes and fresh baguettes and breads, definitely enjoyable !!
they have a computer and a printer on the ground floor for a free use and free wi fi in rooms .
location is good and a metro station is 5 min away so you can get to most places , or walking like I do .
conclusion , this is an excellent no brainer in Almaty and I am very glad I chose it , worth every cent and more !!!!!

I had a standard room on the 5th floor (top) and while there isn't a view, it is quiet since the hotel is tucked away from the main street. Instead of a bathroom, the sink/vanity is in the main room while there are separate cabins for the shower and toilet. I found that design more functional. Other highlights: Large full-wall window that lets in plenty of sunlight; The Wi-Fi was above average strength and stable; Central A/C instead of a forced air unit; Everything neatly tucks away (mini-fridge, hair dryer, etc.). I slept well here - the rooms are designed for business travelers to be comfortable. The only annoyance is the cabin lights were a pain to switch on/off.
Location - Next to Abay Avenue and Metro Station. Plenty of dining options nearby (I liked Nedelka and My Cafe). A few points of interest like Kok-Tobe and the Opera House are close. Breakfast was 4000T extra, but it was well done (strong coffee, eggs cooked to order, fresh baked goods, fruit choices, etc.)

I stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed this hotel. Breakfast was OK rather than great, the bar was a bit bleak, and not a load of atmosphere but pleasant enough if you are working during the day and need somewhere quiet afterwards.

Excellent value. We had a very large suite with "living room area", king-sized bed and desk for work. Very generous breakfast (7-10 every morning) included. Eggs made on demand. Big buffet of fruits and vegetables, nuts, cereals, beef stroganoff( !) and sushi (!) Wonderful expresso, cappuccino machine--self serve. Great for that morning coffee fix! Nice quiet room with big windows to open for cool night air. Good air conditioning. Very nice bathroom. There is a safe, a mini bar and his and her clothes closet!
